Description: Epiphytic herbs, creeping to pendulous, to ca. 100 cm. Pseudobulbs elliptic-obovate, 2-4 x 0.3-0.6 cm, well separated on the rhizome. Leaves usually two, terminal, on the pseudobulb; blades elliptic, 2-6.5 x 0.6-1.5 cm. Inflorescences terminal on pseudobulb, <1 cm long, solitary (or, occasionally 2 are produced simultaneously) white to whitish-green flower. Flowers: dorsal sepal lanceolate, 5.5-7 x 1.7-2 mm, the apex acuminate; lateral sepals similar to dorsal sepal. Petals similar to sepals but narrower. Lip trilobed, 4-4.5 mm long; midlobe triangular, ca. 1 x 1 mm, the apex acute to acuminate; lateral lobes subquadrate, 2-2.5 x 2.2-2.5 mm, enfolding column. Column ca. 3 mm long. Pollinia 4, laterally flattened, with strap-like caudicles.

Distribution: Southeastern United States (Florida), Mexico to Bolivia, the Guyanas and Brazil from 50 to 1800 m.
Ecology: In moist and cloud forests.
Phenology: This species has been observed with flowers in Jan, Feb, Aug, Sept, Nov, and Dec.
