    Type: Holotype: Honduras, Blake 7476 (US!).

    Description: Distal cauline internodes and petioles moderately to copiously beset with spreading crisped or variously curved flexuous hairs. Leaf blades sparsely to moderately setulose above but persistently covered with spreading hairs on and between the primary and higher order veins beneath.

    Habitat and Distribution: Widespread but local, rain forest. 10-120 m. Colombia and Venezuela south to Amazonian Peru. GUATEMALA (Steyermark 38808, F); HONDURAS (Hazlett et al. 8038, MO); COSTA RICA (Wilbur 37629, CAS); PANAMA (Folsom et al. 5043, CAS).
