Location
Suriname. Sipaliwini. N side of Kuruni Island, E of trail from airstrip to N branch of Kuruni River around island, ca. 30 airline km E of confluence on Corantijn River.

Habitat
Slightly disturbed primary lowland moist forest (some larger trees removed over much of island during construction of airstrip ca. 30 years ago).

Description
Tree, 35 m tall. a few older flowers encountered, calyx yellowish-green, corolla absent; fruit mostly immature, immature fruit green, tough, surrounded by tough receptacle which dries hard, brown with maturity. Old fruits collected off ground beneath tree. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
