Georeferencing Method
Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Referenced Geonames.org for additional locality information for Tibiti Savanne (http://www.geonames.org/maps/google_5.383_-55.933.html, accessed: 5/8/2015). Georeferenced to the approximate geographic center of Tibiti Savanne in Para, Suriname. Used the reference material and Google Maps - Earth View to locate Tibiti Savanne, nearby the Tibiti River. Used the Google Maps - What's Here Tool to find the coordinates of the approximate geographic center of the area. Because the spatial boundaries are well defined (visually), used the Google Maps - Measure Distance Tool to find the linear extent by measuring from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of the region. Input coordinates, linear extent (1370.0 m), and measurement error (5 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius (according to Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Named Place: Defined Area).
