Description
hypogeous/gregarious. 1-2.5 cm broad, globose to ellipsoid to pyriform in shape, dry, bright sulphur yellow to cadmium yellow, staining bright orange to red, with some few superficial rhizomorphs, but with a weft of bright yellow basal mycelium at attachment point. Peridium white to pale yellow and thin when viewed as exposed/cut, bright orange then deep purple with NH4 on yellow peridium. Interior pale olive to dark olive, with gel filled chambers. See 8507.
