Georeferencing Method
Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to the approximate location of Potrero Municipal, which is located approximately 3 km southwest of the city of Riberalta in Prov. Vaca Diez, Beni Department. Used Google Maps - Earth View to find the city of Riberalta. Used the Google Maps - What's Here Tool to find the coordinates of the approximate geographic center of the city. Because the city has defined spatial boundaries on Google Maps, used the Google Maps - Measure Distance Tool to find the linear extent by measuring from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of the city. To find the offset coordinates and linear extent, input coordinates, linear extent (5.24 km), offset distance (3 km), offset direction (SW), measurement error (.01 km), and distance precision (1 km) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius (according to Georeferencing Quick Referencing Guide, Offset: Offset at a heading).
