  • Description

    Pileus 4.5-5.5 cm broad, convex to plan-convex, dry, subtomentose to matted subtomentose, pale brown to cocoa brown (6E7,6,5) and sometimes with brownish yellow (5D6,5) tints at the margin, with even non-projecting margin. Flesh pale brownish pink under disc, white to pale yellow toward margin, bluing over tubes and toward the margin when exposed, with mild odor and taste. Tubes adnate to barely subdecurrent, olive yellow (4D6,5), blue green when exposed; pores olive yellow (4D6,5,4) blue green when bruised, this changing to a sooty brown (5F5), 1-1.5 mm broad. Stipe finely matted pruinose to finely subtomentose, central and curved or slightly eccentric and curved, equal or slightly broader below, pale yellow (4A3,2), bruising slightly a pale brownish, white at the base; interior solid, whitish, bluing in the apex and sometimes in the base, otherwise pale pinkish brown in the base and unchanging. NH4: pale blue green on pileus and in flesh.
