    Mexico. Oaxaca. Santa María Chimalapa Mun. Cerro Piicotzuc, highest peak in central Sierra de Tres Picos (ca. 18 straight-line km SSE of La Laguna, Ver.).

  • Habitat

    Top of western (slightly lower) peak; granitic range with very high precipitation; ridge with very steep, in parts almost veritcal slopes (to N and S), rest with very dense cloud scrub 1-1.5 m tall, very exposed to wind and fog, with Ugni, Cavendishia, Gaultheria, Lasiacis, Clusia, Markea, Chamaedorea, Sobralia. Common fern in nearly vertical beds of Sphagnum.
