Habitat
In cerrado, side of dirt road. This habitat: slightly degraded campo cerrado. Shrubs & small trees twisted by former fires, forming an open ticket. Ground cover of grasses & herbs. Soil poor, light reddish-brown fine sand with a little clay. General vegetation: campo cerrado on upland (or occasionally forest). Open marsh or dense secondary forest along streams.

Description
Shrub 2 m. tall. Fls. lilac in bud to whitish-lilac when open. All duplicates of this number from one plant. Very common. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
