    Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Because of remarkable similarities between the description of this site and another pertaining to this same collector on a later date (NY Site IRN: 29135): "Km 6 da Rodovia BA-001, trecho Nova Viçosa/Mucuri. Ramal à esquerda para o sitio Canto do Sabiá, em direçao à praia. Restinga arbórea", assumed that this collection was made in the same place, and therefore utilized the more detailed locality description given with the newer site for this georeference. Georeferenced to the approximate midpoint of the unnamed side-road leading to "Sito Canto do Sabiá", which branches from BA-101 to the left ca. 6 km along the road from the outskirts of the city of Nova Viçosa on the way to the city of Mucurí, in Mun. Mucuri, Bahia. Using Google Maps - Satellite View, located the city of Nova Viçosa and BA-001 (Rod. Nova Viçosa/Mucuri); then using Google Maps - Street View, located the entrance to the specific side-road leading to "Sito Canto do Sabiá" (-17.942788 -39.446764). Using Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs, found coordinates for the approximate midpoint of the side-road from its intersection with BA-001 to the beach. Using Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps), found the linear extent by measuring from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of the side-road. Input coordinates, linear extent (275.547 m), and measurement error (0.5 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius (according to the Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Named Place: River, stream, road, path).
