Habitat
Remnants of chaco forest, with Phyllostylon rhamnoides, Acanthosyris falcata, Aspidospermum quebracho-blanco, Ruprechtia triflora, with small temporary roadside pond, surrounded by pastures and cultivated fields. Flat, clay soil.

Description
Dioecious shrublets, few-branched, 1.5-2.5 m tall; hairs stinging!! Female inflorescence branches purple, the fruit snow white; male inflorescence branches a lighter purple, the flowers white.
