Open grassy slopes with marshy ground, low shrubs and low evergreen woodland in valleys by small stream and in shelter of sandstone rocks.

Woody climber with spiny stems. Leaves coriaceous glossy above. Flowers green. Fruit blue black. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
