    Submontane forest. Quercus oocarpa or Q. insignis dominant. Gregarious. On soil.

  • Description

    Pileus 5-9 cm broad, dry, subtomentose to matted subtomentose, 8E8 in places to 6E7, 6D6, 5D-E6,5, negative in NH4. Flesh 2A4, erratically bluing in places, 1-2 cm thick, with mild odor and taste. Tubes adnate, 2C-D-E-F4, not really bluing, pores near 2B5, discoloring to near 2D5 and brownish with age. Stipe 6-9 cm long, 1.5-2 cm broad, ±equal to slightly broader below, dry, glabrous to obscurely reticulate (lens), 3A6-5, staining cinnamon brown, with white mycelium at base that stains pink. Phenology of specimen: Basidiomata.
