In humis-covered, well-drained soil of a wooded depression.

Description
Scandent; stem loosely turning or looping, up to 20 or more feet from the ground, crooked, subterete, flexible, 1.5 inches thick; the outer wood white; the inner half reddish brown; bark very thick, latericius except the yellowish-gray and quite smooth surface; branches forming a tangled mass, slender, drooping; leaves ascending, limp or coriaceous, horizontal, recureved, much paler beneath; inflorescence lateral, profuse, recurved from greenish stalks; calyx white; corolla pure white; anthers pink; filaments and lower portion of style yellowish; flowers deciduous, odorless, succulent, very pretty in full anthesis!.
