Costa Rica. Cartago. Continuation of CR # 224 on property of ICE main gate and ca. 17 km beyond the church in Orosi. Along steep ridge crest about 600 m above the road.

Habitat
Steep wooded banks descending to the road. Few plants noted growing in crown of trees.

Description
Robust epiphytic shrub to 1 m tall. Corolla bright red, cylindric but not constricted apically, erect at anthesis and born singly in axils of leaves. Young fruit strongly winged, green but tinged with red. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
