Description
Tree 50 cm. in diameter, very fast-growing. Bark tight, shallowly furrowed. Leaves green above, very pale gree below, with little odor when crushed; petiole, rachis and petiolulues green and reddish. Apparently a male; other trees in town of this species have fruit now. Cultivated ornamental tree. Phenology of specimen: Sterile.

The New York Botanical Garden Plants of U.S.A. Allanthus altlsslma (Mill.) Swingle det. M. Nee, 1989 Wisconsin, Jefferson Co., cultivated ornamental tree in Fort Atkinson. Tree 50 cm. in diameter, very fast-growing. Bark tight, shallowly furrowed. Leaves green above, very pale green below, with little odor when crushed; petiole, rachis and petiolules green and reddish. Apparently a male; other trees in town of this species have fruit now. Voucher for wood specimen, HAD* 46262. Coll.: M. Nee 37802 Aug. 19, 1989
