    French Guiana. Saut Athanase tourist camp on the Approuague River, ca. 25 km SW of Regina. At margins of camp and on trail to Cascade.

  • Description

    Tree, 8 m x 10 cm. Leaves with stellate trichomes abaxially. Buds, flowers, green fruits, and old fruits on tree at same time. Buds open before flowers reach full size, young flowers green, mature flowers with light green perianth and white filaments, flowers delicate, 16-18 stamens. Fruits oblongoid, the largest 7.5 x 6 cm, the exocarp hard. Seeds pink, with gelatinous endosperm indicating that they are not ripe. On tree in non-flooded forest. [Photos, DNA].
