Description
Pileus 5-8 cm broad, convex, dry, rugulose pitted to wrinkled, (5F7) on the disc, paler (5D-E6-5-4) toward the margin and overall with age, lacking a sterile margin. Flesh white, changing to pink, up to 12 mm thick, with mild odor and taste. Tubes deeply depressed around the stipe, sordid golden yellow (4C-D5), unchanging, up to 15 mm long, unchanging; pores more yellow (3A4) at first, then more sordid khaki yellow (4D5), brown when bruised, <1 mm broad. Stipe 9-13 cm long, 10-15 mm broad, ±equal, curved at the base, finely scabrous striate, with fine dark gray to gray brown scabers on pallid ground below, fine yellow scabers on yellow ground (concolorous with pores) above; interior solid, white, pink reaction restricted to apex, white or gray below, occasionally with some yellow.
