Habitat
Second growth from tropical evergreen forest, surrounded by fields for rice, etc. With Cecropia, Ochroma pyramidata, Gynerium sagittatum. Common and in bloom.

Description
To 8 m tall, with terminal fan of distichous leaves. Inflorescence terminal, the rachis erect, the branches gracefully lax, light green.
