Therefore, georeferenced to 11 km along the road connecting the city of Porto Seguro to the city of Santa Cruz de Cabrália, BR-367, in Mun. Porto Seguro, Bahia. Using Google Maps - Satellite View, and a paper map of the area (Superintendência do Desenvolvimento do Nordeste. "Porto Seguro" [Map]. Mapas da Região Nordeste do Brasil – 1:100,000. SUDENE, Recife, PE, Brasil. 1977) located the city of Porto Seguro, and selected the point along BR 367 closest to the approximate geographic center of the city of Porto Seguro according to the boundaries shown on the paper map (-16.4420124 -39.0631771), which are more likely to accurately portray the center and span of the named place at the time of collection, in 1978. Beginning at this chosen point, used Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure approximately 11 km (11.0000 km) along BR-367 in the northward direction. Using Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs, found coordinates for the offset.
