Habitat
High "mata de cipo" forest, with mixed deciduous and evergreen trees and dense understory. On deep loamy soil.

Description
Spindly shrub to 2 m. with slender stems, leaves and stems with spreading red hairs. Inflorescence axis with spreading showy red hairs. Only in young fruit.. Young fruit green with spreading red calyx lobes. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
