Field Char: Understory shrub; leaves moist,
slightly fleshy, dark glossy green above,
yellow-green below; slender stem, wood somewhat
soft and light colored; bark thin; fruits red
with watery pulp when ripe.
Notes: Each fruit with 2 light brown seeds.
Occasional-locally common, most sightings in
fruit.
Locality: Morobe province; hills adjacent to
the Busu river, near Bumayong settlement.
Habitat: Advanced regrowth in lowland hill
forest within mostly intact canopy,
subsistence plot and logging
disturbance in more accessible iasest
section, tall-statured overstory with
somewhat open understory,
