Field Char: Canopy tree with broad crown;
coriaceous leaves, dark green above, medium
green below, venation finely pinnate; copious
yellow sap from cut surfaces, viscous and
sticky; flowers white in bud.
Notes: Occasional in frequency.
Locality: East Sepik province; banks of the
Sitipa river; near the village of Gahom.
Habitat: Alluvial forest in flood zone of the
Sitipa river; tall-statured canopy,
more or less depauperate with clear
understory, substrate of fine silt,
c. 100 m, 4°39’S X 142°44’E
