Habitat:
Mixed dipterocarp forest, associates include
Myrtaceae, Meliaceae, Shorea, Burseraceae. Red
clay soil.
Field Char:
Tall tree c. 18 m tall, 15 cm dbh. Outer bark reddish-
brown, flaking. Inner bark pale brown. Latex milky
white. Leaves fleshy, dull on both surfaceae, gland
dots small, red. Crushed leaf exudes white sap.
Flower bud pale yellowish-green, waxy. Flower
cream, fleshy. Stamens white.
Notes:
Local name: Pandau gandis. Fruit edible.
