Habitat:
Mixed dipterocarp forest, associates include
Dipterocarpus, Myrtaceae, Meliaceae, Anacardiaceae.
Red clay soil.
Field Char:
Tree 15 m tall, 16 cm dbh. Outer bark reddish-
brown, rugose. Wood with strong spiced aroma.
Leaves fleshy, dull green, venation faint, pellucid
dots minute. Flowers fleshy, 1.5 cm diam. Petals
yellow, 0.6 cm long. Stigma connate, 0.6 cm diam,
ruby-red. Stamens connate in bundles.
