Primary forest; hill Dipterocarp forest, major associates
include: Shorea, Quercus, Garcinia, Elaeocarpus,
Myristicaceae. Along ridge and surrounding slopes, red clay
soil. Occasional.
Morphology:
Tree 15 mtall, 12 cm dbh. Buttresses short and spreading
40 cm long. Outer bark brownish-red, slightly rugose/ Inner
bark pale yellow. Leaves olive green beneath, shiny, dark
green above. Flower bud pale yellow.
