Habitat
Tall tropical evergreen forest on flat or rolling topography, most of large trees removed for lumber, but original trees left scattered in young secondary growth.

Description
Tree 20 m. tall, 25 cm. in diam.; bark finely flaky; with scant resinous white gummy exudate. New leaves light red or light green. Inflorescence in bud.
