Mature sub-montane Andean wet forest on volcanic rock; mid
coverage canopy; dense understory; trees <20 m.
Climbing over Oreopanax sp.; white latex abundant; leaves bullate;
green calyx deeply lobed like starfish; corolla fused with bulbous
portion and petals reflexed with free, green and reddish in color;
purple stamens fused in tube around style; two lobed stigma.
