Fruits round, large (28x25.5 cm) with 8 cm stalk deeply inserted into elongated row of sections.
Smooth with brown stigma dot in center. Very similar to Ragone 286. Rounded core (18 cm)
discolors light reddish core when cut. Male inflorescence very small, 4-5 cm. Leaves symmetrical,
deeply dissected with four pairs of widely separated lobes with rounded sinus bases. Profuse hairs
on upper veins. Tree ~6 m.
Ethnobotany - Very tasty fruit. Used to make chalgoy. Boil, peel and remove core, pound with
coconut milk and form into a ball.
