Artocarpus altilis (Parkinson) Fosberg Cook Islands Mangaia Island Tamarua No fruits. Heavy bearer, oval or round, especially when mature, with long (20 cm) stalk. Pale yellow-green, moderately smooth. Pale yellow or white flesh, no seeds. Leaves (52x39 cm) deeply dissected with 3-5, mostly 3-4 pairs of widely separated lobes. Dark green, smooth blade. Numerous stiff, long white hairs on all upper veins. Few appressed reddish hairs on lower lobe tips. Ethnobotany - Enua is the Mangaian name for Maori. Common and considered a very old cultivar. Was preferred for making pit-fermented breadfruit.
