Tavana family compound. 100 m inland from ocean, SE oceanside corner of fale Samoa
Fruits oblong to oval, small (11x15 cm) with stalk (8 cm) inserted into slightly raised neck
with 1-2 rows of elongated, narrow sections. Pale yellow green, smooth with persisent
brown stigma dot. Each section surrounded by distinctive darker green. Flesh pale yellow,
open fusion near narrow core (9 cm); heavy latex when cut, discolors green. Male
inflorescences, newly emerging fruits, and fewer than 10 almost-mature fruits on tree.
Leaves asymmetrical, longer than wide, moderately dissected, approximately 1/2 distance
to midrib with slightly undulate margins. Most asymmetrical with four lobes on one side
and 3 or 5 lobes on the other. Some leaves symmetrical with four lobes. Dark, glossy,
