Xylopia aromatica (Lam.) Mart.

Municipio de Grajaú, 20km N of Grajaú along highway
006 (5°40'S, 46°11'W). Cerrado vegetation on sandy
soil.
Tree to 4m tall. Outer petals ferruginous outside,
cream inside,red blush at base. Inner petals cream,
red at blush at base. Fruit very spicy aromatic,
turning red at maturity. Flowers, fruit pickled.
