Habitat bare rather recently burned-over ridge, grassy with Lygodium
scandens coming up everywhere.Common in thickets.

Remarks Low tree; flowers yellow, “ngale" inner bark
used to make rope, to make outer cmnaments of
loin cloth; young wood resilient so used for
frames of fish nets, also floats; wood split and
used for ribs of boats, doesn’t rot easily.
