  • Description

    Tree, height 8m. Widespread in village. Flowers 9cm diameter. Petals yellow and sharply change to dark red in center of whorl (or inside surface only), white at very base. Stigmas deep red. Bark smooth, mid-shade brown. Paler rings of coloration, 1mm thick, under each branch node. Younger bark has longitudinal ripple-patterned stripes, 1-2mm across, 5mm apart. Sap under bark very slimy. Largest leaves 28 x 32 cm.
