deep green and rugose above, pale green and
rugose below, midrib flushed with rose-purple,
also lateral nerves; petiole rich green;
vesicle dull green with lavender-rose; rachis
erect in fruit, deep rose-red as are pedicels;
fruiting calyx becoming blue-black with deep
rose-red calyx lobes
