Ulmus, and sparse Nyssa), in a narrow, rocky stream valley (widening
towards north end), Posey Hollow, Smithsonian Conservation and Research
Center, south of Front Royal. - elev. 900-1100 ft. - UTM 17 747429E

sorediata, Myelochroa aurulenta, Flavoparmelia caperata.
Thallus corticolous, crustose, immersed, photobiont lacking in places, esorediate;
lirellae broad, short, tapering to pointed ends, blue-black, mostly unbranched; margins
persisting, slightly undulate; discs pruinose, exposed; epihymenium brown, with
pruina granules (KOH+ brownish-red/orange); hymenium hyaline, not inspersed;
hypothecium tan/brown; exciple black, present below; ascospores colorless/hyaline,
ca. 8-per ascus, tapering fusiform/clavate, 4-celled, cells roughly equal, 16-18 x 4-
5jim; pycnidia conical, superficial, pruinose, blue-black; conidia colorless, rod shaped,
