South Australia. Region 11: Southern Lofty.
Near a dam next to the edge of Warren Conservation Park on Watts Gully
Road between Kersbrook and Williamstown.
Coord, ex gridref. 34°44/12',S, 138°54,32"E; preen 0.5
Growing among Pteridium esculentum near the edge of an artificial dam in a
disturbed site near an abandoned dairy. Both the Rubus and Pteridium were
about 1 m high.
Canes arching but not high arching. This plant was relatively small with fruit
on canes only 1 m or less in length.
The cut leaves are the obvious feature for identification of this species.
Glandular hairs are present on the stems of the inflorescence, although hairs are
only supposed to be non-glandular for this species according to the Blackberry
Identification Guide by Robyn and Bill Barker. Another inflorescence on this
specimen does lack glandular hairs.
