Appalachian Plateau, Garrett County, Herrington Manor Road, Herrington Manor State Park. Striking size variation in these Bromus clumps, those near the road nearly 4 1/2-5 feet tall and those in deep shade only 2-3 feet tall. Stems nearly glabrous ¡overall but with hairy lemmas including margins and I across the backs. Habitat. Mesic woods under Quercus alba, growing with Elymus hystrix. Christopher T. Frye 6367 04206699
