Euonymus alatus (Thunb.) Siebold

WISCONSIN, Richland Co., 4.5 km. (by air) NW of
Muscoda, Frank’s Hill.

43°13’18”N, 90°27’44”W. alt. 226 m.
Brushy, over-grown formerly open pastured low hill, with
Rubus (blackberry), Primus serotina, Rosa multiflora,
Morus alba, a few Elaeagnus umbellata and one Euonymus
alata.
Shrub 2.5 m. tall, 5.5 cm. in diameter. Voucher for wood
specimens at Kw, Lw, MADw. Wood fine-tectured, very
pale yellow. Abundant yellow-green flowers, odorless
(sunny, 10:30 A.M.).
