Herb, 1,20 m tall, more or less erect with
prominent nodes, the stem just above the no-
des whitish, Lvs. pale green, very dull, al-
most white beneath, Strinkingly thin wings a-
long the' petiole, young spikes white, at an-
thesis greyish green, 10 cm long and o,5 0*
peduncle up to 2 cm, green •
