Pothomorphe peltata L. det. R. Callejas, 1991 Basin of Rio Morona, Rio Mangosiza. Mission of Miazal, 45 km ESE of Sucua (by air) ca. 2°37'S, 77°38'W. Undulating terrain, soils sandy. Elev. ca. 300 m. Along path to Don Alfonso Juan's house, ten meters from canoe landing. Area planted with bananas. Little-branched herb to 1.5m, flowers finger- shaped, 3-8cm long. N.V. natsampar (Shuar) cabeza de Santa Isabella (Spanish) Principal interest: leaves included in remedy given for symptoms resembling colo-rectal carcinoma (chronic rectal bleeding).
