Open areas of white sand surrounded by cerrado vegetation on
higher ground and a dense cover of sedges and grasses in lower
damp depressions.
Shrub 0.5 m tall. Petals magenta. Large anthers red with white
tips. Small anthers and appendages yellow. Occasional on white
sand.
