The "curiche", a natural swampy opening
in subtropical semi-deciduous "Chaco" forest,
very flat, silty soil, inundated after rains.
Ipomoea carnea ssp. fistulosa, Solanum glauco-
phyllum, scattered gnarled trees of Geoffroea
striata.
Shrub 2.5 m. tall, no latex; dioecious, female.
Flowers greenish. Male plants very inconspicuous
perhaps fewer than females?; some with a few
flowers or buds; stamens four.
