Hab,‘ Colombia. Border between Departamento de Antioquia
and Departamento Bolivar. (+ 74°15'W. 6°55‘N.). Secon-
dary forest near the confluence of the rivers lté and
Tamar into the river Cimitarra, + 38 km W. of Barranca
bermeja. Tree + 40 m tall. Tree”with cylindrical bol¥
and spreaded crown. Bark grey with dark brown spines.
Branches grey. Leaves thinly papery, smooth, glossy
medium green above, dull and paler green beneath. Sta
minate and pistillate inflorescence dark red.
