Tree 5-8 m. tall at edge of rocky seashore, common but only one seen in flower; flowering spike yellow, fruit green. Sap white and causing inflamation of sensitive skin (eyelids). Secondary vegetation on former plantations and pasture, and remnants of original tall evergreen forest on steep slopes and stream edges in the Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve, 0-200 m. altitude.
