Alt. c. 15 m I A small, herb growing in shallow leaf liter and white sand, in shaded area. Root tuberous at the base, then with a subterranean stem covered in soft, ginger-brown prickles and rooting from the stem also; sap white. Leaves thick and leathery, dark green with undulating margins.
