caule triptero piano in folium oblongum expanso, sepalis disjunctis linearibus
apice recurvis, petal is lauceolatis apice serrulatis, labello lanceolato 2-lamellat.o
utrinque dentato-Trinidad, Lod (liges ; N. Qrcvuda (loose storus on the Rio
Cuc/uro), Purdie in hb. Hooker; Venezuela, Fcndler, 1482. h. s. sp. & v. v. c.
-Leaf about four times shorter than the stem, often proliferous where the
flowers should be. Flowers yellowish green with brown or purple stripes.
Notwithstanding some differences between my description, to which I adhere,
and that of Rchb. and Klotsssch, there can be little doubt that tlieir names
are synonymous. Indeed I liave the authority of llchb. for trigonopoda being
the same as tripteris; and P. sicaria is marked by llchb. himself in the
Hookerian herbarium as possibly his tripteris._
