Growing in forest edge, partially open. Trunk 2.0 m. tall. Forested foothills of the mountains east of Quepos, Pacific Slope of the Talamanca Range. Evergreen tropical wet forest formations with a dry Seriod from December to April. Unusually dry at this time with very ttle flowering in the forest understory. Puntarenas Province. 9° 29' N.
