  • Description

    spore length: 7 - 11 microns; spore width: 3.5 - 5 microns; spore shape: kind of elliptical - broader at one end; spore texture: smooth; spore color: clear; spore print color: pinkish. Pores are 8mm deep and 2 per mm on the voucher. The voucher's pores stained reddish, then turned black. Refer to the associated flash bi-lateral cut photo and the cap and gill/pore flash photo for staining and black colors, also the reticulation at the apex of the stipe. This specimen was verified by Dr. Andrew Methven and Jay Justice. Based on the specimen's physical characteristics and close examination by Dr. Methven (see annotation above) combined with the 2015 DNA analysis confirmed that this specimen is Tylopilus alboater.
