Description
spore length: 10 - 13 microns; spore width: 3 - 4 microns; spore shape: elliptical; spore texture: smooth; spore color: clear; spore print color: pinkish brown. The bitter taste and the spore description made the final classification. A beautiful mushroom. Close examination by Dr. Methven (see annotation above) combined with the 2015 DNA analysis confirmed that this specimen is Tylopilus plumbeoviolaceus.
